© 2019 Kadant Solutions Division Challenge A mill in the Northeast U.S. encountered some challenges on its ceramic center press position on a lightweight coated machine. A 100% carbon blade delaminated and another carbon blade were unable to allow the sheet to release at the right angle to go into the pulper. The machine ran at 3,600 fpm and the position used a competitor holder. Solution The SynTek C doctor blade was installed and was able to consistently provide a clean, sharp edge allowing the sheet to be directed as needed. Results The mill was so satisfied with the performance of SynTek C doctor blade in this application it was used on all three of its paper machines’ center press doctors as well as last top dryers,
