Sustainable solutions for flagship leisure centre in Bangor Our creative design solutions were key to the success of this development. In partnership with the architects and contractors, our consultants provided civil and structural, transport, fire engineering and acoustic services and developed innovative, cost-effective solutions. The £38m flagship leisure centre houses a 50m Olympic sized swimming pool, a family fun area, two squash courts, a fitness studio and multi-use sports hall. Our inclusion of sustainable urban drainage systems, rainwater harvesting, storm water attenuation and the reuse of excavated rock as graded stone fill, our designs helped the project meet a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ sustainability target.
