Sustainable engineering for Millennium Community industrial site Our civil and structural engineering consultants helped this project in Allerton Bywater, part of the UK’s second Millennium Community, become the first industrial development in the north of England to achieve a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating. Our design team gave careful consideration to the use of recycled and reusable materials and incorporated significant environmental features in order to meet the ambitions of both the local authority and the HCA. The Networkcentre offers modern high-quality industrial workspace units and self-contained office accommodation. The 16 workspace units have created 100 new jobs for the area in a development that includes sustainable urban drainage systems, bicycle facilities, natural ventilation
