A major telecom operator brought mobile service to Paraguay’s remote Chaco region by deploying 12 solar-powered base stations with Vertiv and partner Siemi. Traditional diesel generators weren’t feasible due to fuel logistics and flooding risks, so the project used Vertiv™ NetSure™ 5100 hybrid DC systems with eSure™ solar converters, EPC 48300/2900 outdoor cabinets with lithium-ion batteries, and full solar arrays. The solution now powers all sites with 100% renewable energy, cutting operating costs and service calls while delivering reliable connectivity to 2,000 families across nine communities.
