Seattle Children’s partnered with Achievers to enhance its “Wave” employee recognition program by integrating patient-submitted kudos through an open API. Previously, gratitude was often delayed or limited to select caregivers. The new feature allowed patients to recognize all staff—from clinicians to custodial teams—via the hospital app. The system matched staff accurately and filtered sensitive information. During the pilot, 144 recognitions led to a 10% boost in engagement, fostering inclusion, morale, and a pay-it-forward culture across the organization.
