Throughout the design process, Eco-Fish Global Ltd staff were engaged to provide technical advice to the client relating to fish passage, including salmonids, lamprey, eel and cyprinid species. River/fisheries habitat surveys were carried out at four weir locations prior to the solution assessment taking place. Eco-Fish were able to make use of CAESAR flow transport 2D modelling outputs to determine positive/negative impacts of different fish pass solutions, on fish migration at varying flows (Q10, Q50, Q90 and Q95). These impacts were then displayed in a suitability matrix, covering a wide range of species and used to assess the fish pass solutions for velocity, depth and functionality.
