An Initiative to educate about waste segregation at source. CASE STUDY Living in the urban areas, one often passes by a cigarette bud, empty bottle of water, rolled up ball of paper, a plastic cup that presumably someone had tea or coffee in it or a heap of trash. As human beings we are bound to generate waste, but in the age of technology and innovations there are numerous sustainable ways to ensure that waste management is not our biggest threat. On an average, India generates 62 million tonnes of waste annually. Only 25% of the waste is treated and the remaining 75% is untreated. With a growing population of 1.38 billion and increasingly higher population moving to urban areas, each city today faces growing challenges in waste management.
