Overview One of the world’s largest cruise liner companies required to have the potable water tanks onboard one of their cruise ships refurbished as they were showing signs of age and deterioration. Challenge Grit blasting was not permissible. There was also a strict time frame given for completion of the project. Solution Water jetting to WJ-3 standards was used as the surface preparation method. This was followed by one primer coat of solvent-free, wet & rust tolerant epoxy Epo- chemTM RS 500P. One topcoat of solvent-free, wet tolerant epoxy Epo-chemTM RA 500M was applied to complete the coating system.
