A Midwestern AMC used IQVIA NLP to mine unstructured EHR data for Alzheimer’s disease research. The technology extracted cognitive scores, imaging, comorbidities, and biomarkers, creating harmonized phenotypic datasets. This enabled clustering of patients into subgroups and development of recurrent neural networks predicting disease progression up to five years out. The approach supports early interventions, more personalized care, and a learning health system model for other chronic diseases.
