MetaApp, a leading game platform in China, developed a cost-effective AI-based recommendation system to boost user engagement and game monetization. Built on Alibaba Cloud’s c8i instances with 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors, the system uses DeepRec and Intel® oneAPI Deep Neural Network Library to enhance performance. Leveraging Intel® AVX-512, the CPU-based solution eliminates the need for GPUs, enabling dynamic scheduling, flexible scaling, and faster response times. MetaApp achieved 2.9x performance-per-watt efficiency and a 22% cost reduction while maintaining high query throughput, supporting future innovation and scalability.
