A major public sector oil refinery in India resolved chronic valve erosion issues in its RFCC unit by upgrading to the Fisher™ V500 eccentric plug valve with a Very Tough Ceramic (VTC) trim set and tungsten carbide coating. The new solution reduced unplanned shutdowns by 15 days per year, saving over $2M in downtime and $100K in maintenance costs. The upgraded valve improved control precision, plant safety, and long-term durability, operating smoothly for 15 months without shutdowns. The success led to expanded collaboration with Emerson for future plant optimization.
