When the popular Dorset seaside resorts of Weymouth & Portland was selected to host the 2012 Olympic sailing events, it sparked a number of large and complex construction projects in the area, all to make the venue truly memorable and give a lasting legacy in the resorts. One such project was the construction of the Weymouth Observa- tion Tower. After completion, the 53m high tower offers spectacular views across Weymouth bay and the Jurassic Coast. First, the tower had to be delivered to Weymouth from the factory in Europe.
