C ASE S TUDY Bournemouth Buccaneer... ... OK, so its actually called a Blackburn Buccaneer, a low-level subsonic strike aircraft which served with the Royal Navy. However as this particular aircraft was moved from Bournemouth Airport in Dorset, we decided it was apt to change her name slightly. Having recently been acquired by an aviation mu- seum in Southern Ireland, she needed to be moved from Bournemouth to her new home at the Shannon Aviation Museum. However, as she was no longer air –worthy, the only remaining option was by road. This tricky contract was given to Fitzpatrick Lowloader Service from Ireland, who, in turn chose Teahan Convoi Service to provide the UK transport permits and escort vehicles, as well as carry out a route survey to ensure the convoy could safely
