Landor Traction Maintenance Depot
The roof of the Landore Traction Maintenance Rail Depot was surveyed and found to contain Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM’s) which needed to be removed prior to its replacement. Clifford Devlin were appointed by J Murphy to remove the ACM’s consisting of Asbestos Insulating Board (AIB) and Galbestos Roof sheeting under fully controlled conditions. Along with the roof sheets the glazing panels and aerial walkways were also removed. The building was fully scaffolded both externally and internally and a series of ACM removal enclosures set-up with negative pressure units to form an air- tight seal around the works. A temporary portable decontamination unit was established on the site and CCTV installed to enable external supervision of the works. The ACM’s were carefully removed by a team
