Kyoto University expanded its HPC capacity by upgrading its supercomputing systems—Laurel, Camphor, and Cinnamon—to the 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors. This transition delivered up to 160% performance improvement compared to previous systems powered by older Intel Xeon and Xeon Phi processors. The enhancements supported increased core counts, memory bandwidth, and processing power, enabling better performance for computational science workloads. The benchmark results confirmed significant gains, helping the university meet growing research demands across scientific disciplines efficiently and securely.
