Kyoto University’s ACCMS upgraded its supercomputing systems with Intel® Xeon® CPU Max Series to overcome memory bandwidth limitations in high-performance computing (HPC) workloads. Facing increasing demand for faster computation and greater memory capacity, the team sought CPUs with high B/F value, DDR5 support, and large memory. Intel’s solution delivered up to 4.7x speed improvements, enabling faster, more efficient simulations in fields like climate modeling and space science. With minimal code optimization, researchers benefit from seamless performance gains, accelerating scientific discovery and reinforcing Kyoto University’s position as a research leader.
