Case Study
Islay Distillery & Visitor Centre
CASE STUDY IFT was appointed by Anderson Floor Warming & Renewables to install flooring as part of the £10.5 million, three-year refurbishment programme at Bunnahabhain, which aims to transform the Islay distillery and visitor centre into a world-class whisky destination. IFT installed 140m2 of Mapei Topcem screed onto an underfloor heating system at the new visitor centre at the Bunnahabhain Distillery on Islay. Following this, we sanded the Topcem, vacuumed clean then applied Mapei Primer SN with a full blinding of coarse silica sand. 10mm of Mapei Ultratop Industrial was then applied and allowed to cure for 2 days, before adding one coat of Mapefloor 52W then a final coat of Mapefloor 58W to provide a finished floor. This job was a huge logistical challenge for the IFT team
