GoPay, part of GoTo Financial and the GoTo Group, faced scalability challenges with its Barito logging platform on Google Cloud. To address this, GoPay collaborated with Google Cloud and the Intel® Software Center of Excellence (CoE), which recommended optimizations that improved Barito’s CPU utilization and transaction capacity. Testing Barito on Google Cloud N2 instances with 3rd Gen Intel® Xeon® processors further enhanced performance, achieving 87% more responses per second and a 20% CPU usage reduction, while reducing cluster costs by nearly 10%. These efforts allowed GoPay to scale efficiently without increasing infrastructure costs.
