Illinois 83/137 Study | Volkert Location: Lake County, IL Client: Illinois Department of Transportation Volkert serves as prime consultant to the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) studying potential improvements to approximately 11 miles of Illinois 83 (Milwaukee Avenue/Barron Boulevard) and Illinois 137 (Buckley Road) in Lake County, Illinois. The existing roadway cross section is primarily an undivided two lane highway with shoulders and additional turn lanes at most intersections. The roadway also has had interim improvements of additional through lanes at some of the intersections and sections of four lane pavement.
