HUNTSMAN TIOXIDE CHIMNEY Dismantling A Prefabricated Steel Stack (300ft High) Huntsman Tioxide Europe May 2006 Two large mobile cranes were utilised to effect the dismantling. A 160t crane with fly jib was used to carry manskip to enable slinging and flame cutting. A 500t mobile crane was used to lift individual sections. Timing of the project was critical due to adverse winds from the Humber Estuary and North Sea. Continuous weather reports were necessary to ensure that windows of opportunity for lifting were maximised and to rule out penalties being incurred for standing large capacity cranes.
