HP Hood Dairy Winchester, Virginia
System Objectives HP Hood, Inc. built a new centralized refrigerated (35°F) warehouse center to replace the function of multiple leased facilities. The new warehouse, located in Winchester, Virginia, has been designed to receive 100 loads per hour on standard 40” x 48” GMA pallets from an adjacent milk production facility and store them in the automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS). It will then deliver up to 100 loads per hour to the shipping dock where they are loaded onto trailers and distributed to various HP Hood, Inc. regional distribution centers throughout the eastern United States.
