Historic GM&O Terminal Building | Volkert Location: Mobile, AL Client: City of Mobile and Carbone Properties, LLC The City of Mobile and Carbone Properties sought to restore and repurpose the historic Gulf, Mobile, & Ohio (GM&O) headquarters as a transportation and business hub in downtown Mobile. They turned to Volkert for conceptual designs and master planning to bring back the magnificent 1907 Spanish Mission Revival gem. Volkert provided a master plan, 3-D models, business site layouts, CADD drawings, and lead abatement assessment and design for the conversion of the terminal to an intermodal facility.
