Case Study: Guercino in an Up-Close View The exhibit of Giovanni Francesco Barbieri, known as the Guercino, is featured in Piacenza. A Baroque artist born in Cento, almost four hundred years ago in 1627 accomplished one of the most signicant works of his career as a painter: the magnicent cycle that decorates the dome of the Cathedral.
