THE PROJECT The Frying Pan Tower was constructed in the early 1960s as a Coastguard lighthouse based on a modified Texas drilling platform. The tower sits at the end of the Frying Pan Shoals off the coast of North Carolina, where it served as a lighthouse until 2003. In 2010 the tower was purchased by a civilian and has been undergoing constant repair and restoration ever since. This weekend retreat has seven bedrooms for paying guests. Deepwater donated six RetrolinkTM anode strings in 2012.
