Case Study
Food Processing Evaporative Ponds
A food processing facility in Colorado was faced with odors originating from two large evaporative ponds. In this situation, there were three major challenges. First, they were located in Colorado and would experience freezing conditions throughout the winter making a water based system impossible. Second, there was no readily available water supply for a conventional aerosol system which would use around 1,000 gallons of water per hour. And third, there were no fences or poles to attach a conventional aerosol odor control system as the perimeter must be 10 to 20 feet above the ground. The solution proposed by their chemical management subcontractor was a dry air driven odor control system with ground mounted stanchions which required no water thus, no water free
