DUBROVNIK BRIDGE Facts Project Description The Dubrovnik bridge is one of the largest single-pylon, cable-stayed bridges in the world. 52 m above the water, it spans a large cove north-west of the city of Dubrovnik. This water crossing has shortened the distance between Split and Dubrovnik on the coastal road by 12 km. The bridge is a combination of a 334 m steel bridge with a 147 m box girder bridge, total length 481 m. The largest span is 304 m. The pylon with the back span structure (2 x 9 and 2 x 10 cables) has an impressing height of 143 m whereas the traffic on the bridge moves 52 m above sea level.
