Developing team skills with Hoople
Challenge The Weir is a registered nursing home, established in 1987 and comprising 35 beds. It is a rural home, with a stable staff base and a recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection report that shows it is compliant in all respects. Upon her appointment as the Weir’s manager, Rita Mills identified an urgent need for training in certain mandatory areas – for example moving and handling, health and safety, communication and fire safety. As an experienced MAPA (Managing Actual and Potential Aggression) trainer and the holder of a current Moving and Handling Trainer certificate, Rita was able to deliver the moving and handling and communication components herself. Rita contacted the Hoople Training team for help in delivering the other identified requirements. She was con
