BAI’s Smart Communities Report 2022 highlights how enterprises and venues in the UK and US view the future of connected communities. Respondents see strong value in smart infrastructure to enhance safety, efficiency, and inclusion, with 83% already engaged or planning private–public partnerships. While most recognize the need for faster speeds, lower latency, DAS, small cells, and neutral host models, many delay upgrades, preferring to leap multiple generations at once. Barriers include lack of partner awareness and outdated networks, but 95% are open to collaboration. The report concludes that partnerships are essential to build smarter, sustainable communities.
