Case Study
Containment Slurry Wall Design, Canady’s Station, South Carolina
GEI designed a soil cement slurry wall to cut off the ? ow of arsenic- contaminated water from a power station ash pond to the adjacent Edisto River. The Canady’s Station ash pond consists of an 85-acre basin surrounded by an 8,500-foot-long dike. The dike is 20 to 25 feet high. Arsenic-contaminated water from the ash slurry placed in the pond has been leaking through the dike, causing unacceptable arsenic concentrations in the g
