#ASE3TUDY "OURNEMOUTH)NTERNATIONAL#ENTRE Bournemouth, Dorset Bournemouth International Centre Southern Concrete Services were appointed by Bournemouth Borough Council to install Thor double neoprene expander wall ties to the parapet brick work columns of the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) car park. The Bournemouth International Centre was opened on 6th September 1984 as a multi-purpose Conference, Entertainment, Exhibition and Leisure Venue. The car park has capacity for 700 cars. Southern Concrete worked closely with the Structural Engineer in the authority’s Planning department in carrying out the wall tie works. Access to the wall tie works proved to be a major obstacle but this was easily overcome with the use of a 25m cherry picker operated by fully trained Southe
