Bio-Pharmaceutical CHP Case Study THE OPPORTUNITY Johnson & Johnson acquired Transform Pharmaceuticals located in Lexington, Massachusetts, in 2005. Over the next few years, the facility upgraded processes and evaluated energy efficiency measures. Although many measures were performed, the highest fruit with the highest energy savings was determined to be installing a Combined Heat and Power System. Working with their local utilities and the principals of ZHP Systems, Johnson & Johnson evaluated the economic and environmental benefits delivered by the CHP system while also understanding the cost of delay.
