CASE STUDY BESPOKE WALKWAY AT BRISTOL AIRPORT Lockit-safe were commissioned by Bristol Airport to design, manufacture and install a 83m custom walkway that would link a hotel to the airport and aid the easy transition of passengers staying at the hotel, to the airport terminal. THE SOLUTION The walkway was a total of 83m in length with a 3.5m internal span between columns. It was constructed from grade S355 steel which was then galvanised and powder-coated inGoosewing Grey. The roof used 16mm opaque multiwall PETG. The walkway was also fitted with lighting that is activated by PIR sensors. The airport is a busy site and to keep passenger disruption to a minimum, the installation took place over a 4 week period that included working weekends.
