Achieving Real Security Behavior Change at the University of Oklahoma

Using KnowBe4’s Smart Groups and phased training, he built a security culture tailored to varied academic audiences. Baseline phishing tests showed a 13.9% Phish-prone Percentage, later reduced to 4.3% with ongoing, just-in-time training and the Phish Alert Button. PhishER automated email triage, removing 150,000 malicious messages in six months and providing user feedback. Customized content, dashboard reporting, and automation improved engagement, efficiency, and transparency across the university’s security ecosystem.
