Intel and StreamNative partnered to enhance Apache Pulsar’s messaging platform by integrating Intel® Optane™ Persistent Memory (PMem), achieving lower latency, higher throughput, and improved persistence. Conventional SSD storage limited Pulsar’s performance, but PMem’s high bandwidth and low latency enabled sub-millisecond system latency and up to 64x throughput improvement over SSDs. Through a PMem-oriented plug-in and direct memory access, Pulsar can now handle mission-critical, high-throughput workloads with greater efficiency and reliability, making it ideal for industries like finance, trading, and real-time data streaming.
