Microsoft’s white paper outlines the modernization of the Dynamics 365 Commerce in-store tech stack. It introduces the Store Commerce app and a new Commerce SDK to replace Modern POS (MPOS). Key upgrades include improved performance, sealed installers, and independent customization packaging, reducing deployment overhead. The new app uses Chromium-based WebView2 for better rendering and extensibility. Full parity with MPOS is targeted by version 10.0.29. Migration is encouraged by 10.0.32, when MPOS support ends. Android/iOS users are advised to switch to sealed native apps by version 10.0.29 for optimized performance and support.
