ECI Solves MRO’s Chromium Contamination Problem With 900 Series Monitor/Controllers
An FAA Certified Part 145 Repair Station MRO facility faced issues with high hexavalent chromium Cr(VI) levels in their wastewater, exceeding the stringent 1 ppm discharge limits. Electroplating Consultants International (ECI) was enlisted to resolve the problem. ECI implemented Myron L® Company 900 Series controllers for pH and ORP control, reducing Cr(VI) to 0.96 ppm. Further adjustments reduced chemical usage and improved safety, ultimately maintaining discharge compliance with a Cr(VI) concentration of 0.013 ppm.
