This paper explains how Snowflake supports compliance with the FBI’s CJIS Security Policy for protecting Criminal Justice Information (CJI). Snowflake meets requirements across 13 policy areas, including strict access controls, encryption with FIPS 140-2 modules, incident response, auditing, and personnel security with background checks. Customers inherit physical and media protections from their IaaS provider and manage user authentication and configuration. Snowflake’s government regions use FedRAMP-authorized security measures, and customers can conduct audits. Overall, Snowflake maintains a proactive stance to help agencies securely manage and share CJI.
