The International Association of Classification Societies has introduced cyber regulations UR E26 and E27, effective for all classed vessels launched in 2024, to strengthen maritime cyber resilience. These requirements build on earlier standards such as IASME’s Maritime Cyber Baseline. UR E26 ensures secure integration of OT and IT systems on ships, emphasizing identification, protection, detection, response, and recovery. UR E27 focuses on securing third‑party equipment suppliers to reduce risks from external components.
