Verkada/The Harris Poll’s 2025 survey of 1,027 U.S. healthcare workers shows a safety crisis: 59% worry about workplace safety; top fears are verbal harassment (81%) and threats from patients (77%). 79% have experienced or witnessed aggression; 54% have felt threatened. Women, nurses, and Gen Z face higher risk; nurses are ~2× likelier than physicians to be assaulted. Conditions are worsening (61% of nurses more concerned than at start; 40% vs a year ago), yet 77% see no security change. Gaps: 41% report minimal security, visitor checks often manual/ID-optional, many doctor’s offices lack alarms/panic buttons/CCTV/training. 82% want stronger safeguards. Nearly 2 in 5 have considered leaving; 52% say safety fears deter entrants. The report urges modern, visible security and de-escalation training.
