A study of 50 large organizations with significant cloud footprints shows a perceived conflict between cost and performance as they accelerate cloud adoption. All respondents run Java in their cloud environments, and many are actively migrating workloads. Interviews with companies across finance, healthcare, communications and global IT reveal shared pressures to control spending while maintaining high performance. The findings show that the challenge isn’t choosing between cost and performance, but understanding how to optimize both simultaneously in large‑scale cloud operations.
