The AFP® 2022 FP&A Survey, sponsored by Workday, found that more agile organizations—defined by flexible operations, open mindsets, and rapid action—are better at navigating disruptions and driving business value. Among 255 global respondents, “Agile Leaders” reforecast over 50% faster, emphasize scenario planning, and use advanced tools with real-time data. Smaller firms and those in Asia-Pacific and Middle East & Africa scored higher in agility due to less bureaucracy. FP&A teams rated their overall agility at 3.6 out of 5, with strong operational and cultural flexibility but weaker organizational structure, underscoring the need for better tech, data, and adaptable team cultures.
