2022 Summary of Cloud DDoS Protection
The 2022 NSFOCUS Cloud DDoS Protection Summary Report reveals stable attack traffic throughout the year, with over 150 Gbps incidents recorded monthly. About 68% of attacks were under 5 Gbps, while 2.18% exceeded 100 Gbps, peaking in Q3. UDP Floods dominated, followed by ACK Floods. The largest mitigated attacks reached 309.4, 303.7, and 273.9 Gbps with over 99% mitigation efficiency. New threats included reflection amplification using CVE-2022-26143, HTTPU-based IoT reflection attacks, and UDP carpet-bombing across IP ranges. NSFOCUS implemented adaptive protections and threat intelligence-driven defenses to counter these evolving DDoS vectors.
