State of the Phish

State of the Phish

This infographic reveals that despite rising awareness of hybrid workplace risks, user security behaviors have not significantly improved. In 2022, phishing attacks surged, with a 76% increase in direct financial losses. Familiar branding was exploited in 30 million malicious emails, while one-third of users took risky actions when faced with threats. More than 600,000 telephone-oriented attack delivery attempts occurred daily at peak. Alarmingly, over one-third of employees could not define basic terms like “malware” or “ransomware,” and only 35% of organizations ran phishing simulations. With 90% of ransomware victims paying ransoms, the report underscores the urgent need for consistent, organization-wide training.
