Real-time payments are becoming critical for community financial institutions as small and midsize businesses increasingly demand faster payment solutions. Nearly a quarter of SMBs may leave their current FI within two years if real-time payments aren't available, and many more remain undecided. Simply offering real-time access isn't enough—community FIs must also provide training, tailored use cases, and support. While fintechs are competing for this space, they also present partnership opportunities to help FIs implement real-time payment capabilities and retain business clients.
