York Regional Police
THE CHALLENGE The population of York Region in Ontario is expected to grow by approximately 500,000 to reach 1.5 million by 2031. This growth will be through both the intensification of housing in current residential locations and expansion into new areas. Given the changing geographical profile of demand, York Regional Police required updated patrol zone boundaries to respond efficiently and effectively to a growing number of calls for service. Future station locations needed to be identified to best service these patrol zones and provide improved access to police facilities for the public.
