SOLARPARK MEURO, GERMANY World‘s Largest Solar Power Plant 2011 Produces Power with Canadian Solar Modules. GP JOULE, a leading international engineering, procurement and construction (“EPC”) and project development company, built one of Germany’s biggest solar power plants on what was formerly a lignite mine. Today the 152-hectare area in Meuro, Germany, is an environmentally-friendly energy source for 17,500 households. The 70 MW plant comprises 306,000 CS6P-P modules from Canadian Solar and, as a result of that project, the area of Senftenberg in Southern Brandenburg has become a bright spot in Europe’s solar world.
