Wimpy - Case Study The Introduction In 2007, the chain opened up almost 500 new restaurants throughout South Africa, adding to the various international restaurants the company still has in India, Sweden, Egypt and many more countries around the world.Founded in 1930 and inspired by a character from the Popeye cartoons, the first Wimpy restaurant opened in the UK in 1954. Since then, Wimpy has grown to become one of Britain’s biggest fast food chains with almost 100 restaurants up and down the country. The Requirements Famous Brands, the company who currently own the Wimpy brand, approached us to roll out a new set of uniform clothing to be used and ordered by the individual franchises the company has.
