The 53 unit development was constructed from a Porotherm clay block walling system within a short build programme of 48 weeks. A benefit of using Porotherm blocks is that they are lighter and easier to handle than traditional walling bricks so can aid faster construction. T o allow for this faster method of construction we partially erected the scaold in advance to ensure we could remain ahead of the team of 30 bricklayers.
