Located in the Northern Andes region, the predominately mountainous geography was an important factor to consider during construction. Gyrodata was requested to assist with the raise boring of a cable shaft between two underground cavities. In order to connect the cables from the cable gallery to the machine room, a 121/4” diameter cable shaft installation was required along a 330 m route at a 43° inclination. The maximum deviational tolerance of the wellbore must stay within a 0.5 m radius to ensure a smooth and accurate placement.
