Komatsu were interested in extending the remit of Vantec’s involvement to schedule the delivery of required production materials to the line on a JIT basis, inherently reducing line -side inventory to a minimum whilst ensuring that there were no shortages that could stop production. Historically, Vantec’s sphere of responsibility included the Receipt, Storage, Inventory Control, Picking and Delivery of materials to the production line -side locations in good time for the start of produc- tion.
